This is an easy basic pizza dough recipe. Creating pizzas is a great way to feed guests for a social event or serve with salad for a family meal.
Prep time: 1 hourIngredients:
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil
Directions:
Combine water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top and leave for 15 minutes until frothy.
Sift flour into a mixing bowl with salt. Make a well in the middle, add oil and yeast mixture. Mix and combine.
Turn out dough onto a floured surface and knead dough until smooth and elastic (if sticky add a little extra flour). Shape into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Leave covered in bowl until ball doubles in size (time depends on temp of room but about 40 minutes). Finally punch down dough and knead lightly before placing into pizza tray.
*Cooking Instructions
Sprinkle pizza tray with cornmeal and press dough evenly into tray.
Spread the pizza base with tomato puree then sprinkle on your favourite toppings such as salami, ham, capsicum, pineapple, olives and cheese.
Bake at 200°C for about 15 minutes until golden brown and cooked.

Love this recipe easy and yummy... I put garlic granules in my base. Super delicious.... THANK YOU!!
Very easy and quick. Homemade is always better :)
Love this recipe for pizza dough, if i give the family option of store brought bases or making it they will opt for making it every time. Have made a couple of tweaks to suit us, but for adults i put in mixed herbs and chilli powder into the dough or sometimes just black pepper. I also roll the dough out onto the trays and prick with a fork a few times and pre bake for 10 mins before putting the toppings on then top and cook for 15mins...makes nice crispy base that we like.
Love it, it's nice and easy and tastes delicious, I will be giving this recipe to my family, thank you very much for sharing it

Just what I needed, good ol' Kiwi's. Cheers!!
I've been on the lookout for this size of recipe and it was perfect for one, good-sized, thin crust pizza!! My only twist on the recipe was to add a good shake of dried oregano to the flour mixture and to use garlic-infused olive oil for a little extra flavour. GREAT recipe. Thank you!
Fantastic recipe I use it all the time!
Fantastic base - crispy & not to thick.
This isn't really pizza dough, although it could be used that way. This recipe is exactly the same as the one I use to make white bread loaves. If you like a good fluffy pizza however, do try this out.
This is Quick easy and tastes amazing! We love making our own pizza's it's great for the kids to help with too!
Love this recipe! We do this at home all the time. So easy and so YUM! We'll never buy super market pizza again!

My family loves pizza and I always make them myself. I have tried different dough recipes and this one is by far the best I have tried. It is easy to spread thin and once cooked it's very crunchy which is how we love it. Thanks for sharing your recipe :)
i would like to say that an easier way to make a pizza base if you dont want to use yeast, you could make a scone dough and just role it out into a nice pizza base, ive tried it and it is delicious, just a thought
I suck so badly at cooking but after reading this recipe i have tried it and OMG it come out fantastic and yummy ..now if some one teach me how not to burn water i will be happy lolz xox Anna
I have always been a little nervious of any recipe that uses yeast but wanted to make my own dough, this recipe is so easy and I had fun making it - best of all it turned out perfect! No more bought bases for us!
Fantastic pizza, very easy to make and delicious! My little girl normally eats the top of the pizza and leaves the crust behind, with this pizza she was eating the crust and took off the topping. That means something... ;-) Thanks Maggie!
Just tasted my first successful pizza made with this recipe MAGNIFICO! Many thanks Maggie!
First time making pizza dough. This recipe worked like magic. We were hungry and didn't wait for it to double in size. It still taste so yummy!! Definitely will make again.
First Base I've tried that works well for me and my pizza making abilities! Put the recipe in my bread maker (dough mode), even easier! Next pizza I'll make with a stuffed crust, spread mozerella around the edge of base and then fold dough over to cover it. Thanks for the recipe
